Majesty

Inspired by the quiet majesty of the elephant I met as I child. At the time I was so small and the elephant was so big. But in hindsight it was only really a baby. I felt such sadness for it. She was a circus elephant. I begged my mum and dad to let it go free, but sadly it wasn't their choice. I think that experience stirred up in me a deep connection to animals and a burning need to try to protect them. So this piece is very special to me. It's painted on glass to reflect the fragility of life and the ballance we all must live within on this finite planet.
